Trump to talk to XI China after the hiking rate, said the White House

US President Donald Trump will speak with Chinese President Xi Jinping soon after this week, said Trump’s spokesman, establishing a large diplomatic exchange when the two largest economies in the world are looking for an agreement that can prevent wider trade war.

Trump on Saturday ordered the tariff for sweeping goods from Mexico, Canada and China, as part of their demands to face the flow of illegal fentanyl, the main cause of drug overdose in the United States.

Trump resigned from his threat to impose a steep rate in Mexico and Canada on Monday, but US tariffs in China will still be valid in a few hours.

The call will be the first discussion known to Trump and Xi since Trump served on January 20. They previously spoke before Trump’s inauguration.

“That will happen in the next few days,” said the Press Secretary of the White House Karoline Leavitt about the last call.

On Monday, the President of the Republic threatened to increase tariffs in China. He wore a 10% duty on all their items on Saturdays which will come into force on Tuesday.

The tariff quit the Trump campaign promise for a steeper tariff of 60% for Chinese goods. On Monday, he described the initial stage as “Salvo Opening.”

The US said China was the main source of precursor chemicals that were synthesized to be fentanyl by drug cartels in Mexico. China said that they had taken significant steps to crack down on chemicals and hear -reported steps to reduce drug trafficking.

“Hopefully China will stop sending us Fentanyl, and if not, the tariff will be much higher,” Trump said. “China will be handled,” he added.

China, which has long been called counterproductive rates, offers criticism that is relatively muted against tariffs and implies openness for talks.

The country’s government seems ready to look for an agreement with Trump that can delay or stop the tariff, according to someone who is familiar with the problem.

The US dollar reached the highest record against the offshore traded and floated near the level -level on Monday.
