Imports of US crude oil from Mexico drop to the lowest record on January 31, said EIA

US crude oil imports from Mexico fell 372,000 barrels per day (BPD) to the lowest weekly record 149,000 BPD in the week ended on January 31, according to data from the US Energy Information Administration Oil Report (EIA) which returned to 2010 back to 2010.

It was lower than the lowest of all the previous time for the import of US crude oil from Mexico 151,000 BPD in the week ended November 22, 2024.

The lowest record last week came for a week before US President Donald Trump threatened to impose a 25% tariff in Mexico and Canada. The tariffs were then packed until March in return for concessions on the border and enforcement of crime with countries.
